There are two strands: Skills and knowledge. Third thru Fifth grade is continuing to implement Guidebooks 3.0. In order for students to grow in reading comprehension they need to be enriched in complex texts. Guidebooks does just this. WELCOME Back to School!!! I am SO excited about being the Reading Interventionist again this year!! I will be working with all of the boys and girls to build deficits in skills such as phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. In order for our boys and girls to be successful they need to read at least 20 minutes a day. This can be a fun read or literature for school. Encourage your child(ren) to participate in Accelerated Reader and other reading programs. There are many reading websites that are available for free. Here are a few that would be a great resource: www.readingrockets.org www.readworks.org www.pbskids.org www.starfall.com www.funbrain.com . |
